The legacy of this land is a long and storied history of cowboy culture. Evoking a feeling in the heart that is classic Jackson Hole through and though. Bar J was one of the original gathering places in the valley for song, dance and entertainment, where people from near and far gathered for more than 44 years to listen to music, to stories, and to be together. Building on the legacy left by the cowboys, the newly reimagined Bar J is thrilled to re-open its doors as an updated and beautiful event center. This unique property and piece of land in the heart of the westbank of Jackson Hole, offers an incredible canvas for your event to come to life.
The Land:
This 21 acre property is in the middle of it all. Nestled into the heart of the westbank of the Snake River, it’s only 3.5 miles from Wilson, 5 miles from Teton Village and 7 miles from Jackson town center. The property has a 2 acre open grassy area, that is perfect for a large tent, or open air gathering. This location has direct views of Rendezvous Peak (the Jackson Hole Ski Resort) and of the nearby Wilson Faces. On the more western side of the sage meadows, there is a beautiful southern view of the Teton Range.
Our property has a trail system that winds through the acreage, offering a paved forested walk for visitors.
We have accessible parking for 100 guests, service providers, and vendors. The public parking lot Stilson houses over 1000 cars, and is less than 1 mile.

The Barn

The main barn is a large open room, encompassing 6,500 square feet of covered, indoor space that can house more than 500 people. This barn has radiant floor heating for cooler weather days, open air windows and massive barn doors to let the outside in, and vaulted log and timber framed ceiling. There is ample lighting throughout the main room, complete with proper stage lighting directed to one stage on the west side of the room. There are 10 stall bathrooms for both men and women, complete with an outdoor fire pit, and a well functioning area for indoor food service, and bar placement.

The Cabin

The cabin is available for rent with the full facility, or separately. This 1000 square foot room has a beautiful western charm, with hand sewn Swedish logs, a cozy Vermont fireplace, a stunning teak dining table, and comfortable seating area. The decor is uniquely western, with antler chandeliers, a beautiful bison head above the main window, and beautiful Persian rugs creating a cozy environment. This would be a perfect location for a full day corporate meeting, a catered event for an audience of up to 40, or a bridal suite. Surrounding the cabin is an expansive covered porch that offers stunning views of the property, and the perfect spot to relax and soak in the mountain views.

The Lawn

On the south side of the facilities is an expansive 1 acre grassy lawn, surrounded by berms seeded with wildflowers and native plants. This lawn offers ample mountain views of the Wilson faces, and Rendezvous Peak, the top of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. The lawn is available for multiple tents, stages, includes use of our bathroom facilities and plenty of parking.

FAQs
Do we have catering?
Our venue is unique in that we do allow off site catering, and you can bring in whatever outside catering and bar tending services to totally customize your menu to your liking. Our facility is well poised for food trucks, and other catering and bar tending vendors who are able to bring their own equipment, and serve food on site. We have options for service and spaces for catering set up that are covered but not indoors. We do not have a functioning kitchen on site.
What are your bathrooms like?
We have separate men’s and women’s stalls, with 10 stalls in each bathroom, including handicap access stalls. Our bathrooms are expansive, well tended, and a great feature to our property.
What about Parking?
We have enough parking for about 150 vehicles on site, plus service vehicles and vendors. There is a huge parking lot 1 mile away at Stilson, which is great overflow parking for events that might need more space. Some of our parking may alter depending on the season.
What is your capacity?
Our venue can hold a variety of gatherings — we have a smaller cabin that is great for more intimate gatherings like retreats, speakers, and corporate meetings, and our barn can host up to 1000 people indoors, and is one of Jackson’s only heated venues that can host such large capacity without Food and beverage minimums. Do we still do chuckwagons?
The chuckwagon shut its doors in 2020, but the spirit of the old west and the cowboy culture lives on in the soul of property. However, we do not run chuckwagons on site anymore.
Can I put a tent on the lawn?
Of course! Our lawn is set up to hold large (or small event tents) with a beautiful view, and is a great option for someone looking for an outdoor venue with built in bathrooms!
